Solid Chinese spot. Had the S&S Chicken lunch special with spicy chkn fried rice. Generous portion, cheap, and tasty. Going to make it my go to spot until I have reason to go elsewhere.

I do not live in Chicago however I do travel here frequently and I usually stay at the Westin Ohare. I learned about this place from the hotel. The food and service are great. The food is good, nice size portions and hot. The delivery is usually 30 mins right to your hotel room. The Westin usually orders food from this place. I would recommend it otherwise Ginos East is right around the corner.

We often order from here. It is certainly not China town Chinese food but it has been good enough. Large servings and we have always have had good service. Both pick up and delivery. We have been going here for years. I have eaten here but I would recommend take out. It is a little dingy and could use a good cleaning.

Fantastic! I've never had the Chinese food made like this. It's done so perfectly! Not saturated in grease, but still cooked and tastes right. This is the best Chinese place I've found to date. Things that you have to try: egg rolls and the crab Rangoon.

Would of gave this place 5 stars if recently I did not have a slight stomach ache the next day. Chinese food is legit and made lighter without being so greasy. Crab Rangoon some of the best I've had. Usually my go to spot in the area. Chicken is not dicey and chewy as some places. I strong recommend this place and I'm hoping the stomach issues were a fluke.

Distant from O'Hare airport: Less than 10 minutes by car. The inside of the restaurant is bright and welcoming. There were tons of items on the menu to choose from. On one of the walls were pictures of some of the dishes from the menu. They also have smoothies. There were plenty of seating with only a few diners and a constant stream of customers dropping by to carry out their food. The main reason I came to check this place out was for the salt and pepper pork. My order: Crab Rangoon (4) $3.35 - Good texture with a decent filling. Hot and Sour Soup (Large) $4.35 - The portion is huge and can easily feed 4. I would even go as far as it feeding 14 people since I didn't want any more after trying a few spoonful. I wasn't a fan of this soup as it had a strange flavor. I also pulled out what seemed to be a piece of plastic from my mouth. It could have been shrimp shell, but there were no shrimp of that size in the soup. Salt n Pepper Pork Chop $9.05 - Big portion, flavors and texture are ok. Mushroom Supreme $9.85 - Big portion, the ingredients are exciting (mushrooms and pea pods), but the reality is very bland. Bottled Water $1.25 The food was not bad but not great. Would I come back here for dinner? Maybe is it was in my neighborhood, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here.

I typically get lunch here weekly. Foods ready typically within 10-15 minutes of when I call it in and is very good. Staff is very nice and always pleasant. Would definitely recommend the Sesame Chicken, Orange Chicken or Mongolian Beef lunch special.

for a typical Chines infused american the restaurant is great, priced competitively, quality of food is great, portions for the price are about right.

Ridiculous ordering off here and have been waiting over an hour for this place. They told me to wait in my lobby for faster service!!!!! Guess yelp isn't always awesome. The food was good but the service left such a horrible taste it was difficult to enjoy

I was told by a friend that she read this place was rated something like in the top 15 in Illinois? Or the country? One of the two.. Sure does put a lot of hype on a meal, right? I will say that while it was good.. I wouldnt put it in the top 15. Maybe the top 15 in the area? I will say though, that the egrolls were excellent. I had the lunch special, which was incredibly cheap, especially for Chinese food.. I got the general tzos chicken, and it came with fried rice and an eggroll for I believe $6.50.. It was so much food I ate for 2 days. Cant beat that. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up!

Best beef fried rice and egg rolls I have found to date and I have tried many different Chinese restaurants. In fact, I have not been disappointed with any meal that I have ordered here. Best Chinese food in the area by far!

  • Bree T.

This place is so good!!! I ordered hot and sour soup, vegetable fried rice, and watermelon boba tea. It's seriously the best Chinese food!

Decent Chinese food that comes quick and in large proportions. The selection is large and the prices are good. Get the fried fish!

The best Chinese place I have ever been too. The chef's noodles are super good, and of course NO one even comes close to their orange chicken. They expanded and remodeled recently so now it's a nice place to sit down. Came here once for lunch and the lady was letting all the customers try their soup of the day. Really friendly staff and fresh chinese food. I get take out from here all the time and would never go any place else for my chinese. Whenever I call in, they always say 15-20 minutes but they have my order ready in 10.

  • Loca C.

Very good, proportionate ingredients. My only gripe is with the location - got stuck stuck 2-3 minutes each way by freight trains. Maybe next time I'll opt for delivery.... minutes add up quickly when you're on a lunch break.... My luck I suppose.

I was staying at the Quality Inn and their menu was in the guest services booklet. I am very pleased with suggestion. I ordered orange chicken and crab rangoon The food was excellent, the price was great, and the delivery was fast and friendly. I highly recommend them

Very good food. I read reviews and expected fresh food and that it was. The food was delivered hot and quickly, within 30 minutes. The Magnolia beef was very fresh and had mushrooms and onion, it was very good. The beef and broccoli was good. The Crab Rangoon was delicious! The egg rolls are very good as well. We were looking for a GOOD Chinese place that delivered and found it!

Have been coming to this place for a very long time and I mean like since I was a kid! And they never let you down! I would recommend that people order more than just the orange chicken and Mongolian beef! Try the crispy fish and thai rice! Owner is very cool and get this they won awards for best chinese restaurant! -GR

I was staying at the Crown Plaza Hotel for a convention and was looking for some cheap dinner to be delivered. I found Chinese Kitchen on Yelp and the menu looked just perfect. I got the sweet and sour chicken plus the hot and sour soup. Delicious! And a lot of food! I saved half for lunch the next day!

Love this place! Even better.....it's steps from where I live. The Mangolian Beef w/winter peas is the best. Gotta try the Orange Chicken also. These two are my favorite. Just wish they didn't charge me delivery considering I'm seconds away. But I guess I shouldn't be that lazy to go get it, either. Lol!

I've been here frequently with the close proximity to O'Hare. Very good food and the lunch specials are perfect.

Top notch Chinese food! I normally order the empress chicken and it is phenomenal. They use lean high quality chicken in their dishes. The staff is very friendly and they always greet you with a smile. The restaurant is clean and there is plenty of seating if you want to dine in. The servings are so large that I always have enough for the next day. Their lunch specials are reasonable and they give you plenty of food.

Well, it's been a while since I've ventured here but I'm glad I came back. They've finished all of the renovations and the place looks great. Easily 900x better than it was previously, cosmetically anyway. The food hasn't changed it's still pretty good. Today we ordered the special chef combination which is a noodles dish that comes with chicken, beef, and shrimp, with mixed vegetables. Very filling. We also ordered the sesame chicken which is an unsung hero here at Chinese Kitchen, being one of my favorites to order. All sides by a large order of shrimp fried rice that has never disappointed. Taste is still very solid while the looks have gotten a tad bit better. Not too shabby.

During my numerous stays in Chicago, Ive ordered from this place at least a half dozen times. Great food at a reasonable price. My favorite dish would be; combination fried rice with orange chicken .

Friendly staffs that work there and the food is pretty spot on and authentic-tasting every time i stop by. It's not expensive either. Why go anywhere else? IMO, best Chinese restaurant in town!

I have been to this place numerous times throughout the years. They have recently remodeled and expanded the interior. The decor is a typical Americanized Chinese melting pot. I will say it appears to be very clean and it is very bright. The food is very average. I haven't disliked anything I have ordered but I also haven't found anything that is great. For the price and portions it all seems very average. I think I like there Teriyaki Sticks the best out of everything I have had. I have always had the food delivered or carried out so I have not spent time in the restaurant. Placing phone orders is easy and they typically have coupons and specials available. There is always parking in there lot, you can even get your dry cleaning done two doors down! All in all this an acceptable substitute for your favorite Chinese restaurant...

This is by far the best Chinese food I have had in a long time. The items always seem so fresh. I love the beef and broccoli. My wife always orders the Orange Chicken which she loves. The fried rice is amazing. The staff is really nice and the eating area is big. We usually do take out and the food is ready for pick up in 10-15 min.

On there menu I've tried: -Orange chicken: amazing and perfect about of spicy -Sesame chicken: literally seemed like they took orange chicken and just threw some sesame seeds on top - so I'm not trying that again, -Chicken and shrimp fried rices: both great -Crab ragoon: yum -Mongolian beef: pretty good, but way too much sauce smothering everything! my meal seemed like it turned into soup. The cashier at the counter didn't even realize I was standing there for a good 10 minutes, wasn't at all friendly, so I don't suggest eating inside. But it's awesome for take out :)

Well its has been a while since I have stopped here but few friends who live in the area have mentioned that the place went through a renovation and the food has improved. Right after walking in it was easy to notice that the place had a makeover and looks very clean. It actually looked like a brand new restaurant. People working there are very friendly. It seems like the business is doing well, I waited about 10 minutes for my food and it seemed like at least five people picked up their order. My food was pretty good, I ordered my usual special: Kung Pao chicken with an egg roll and a hot&sour soup. I have to say that I will order from here again.

Just ate here tonight. Found it on grubhub. I had crab ragoons & sweet & sour chicken. Price was reasonable & found was good. They charge a delivery fee, but do deliver. Food wasn't super hot when delivered. I would eat here again though, it was yummy!

This is by far my favorite Chinese restaurant! All of the food I've had from here is delicious and the smoothies are great. The prices aren't too bad either. The staff is very nice and friendly too from the minute you walk in.

This was my first (and unfortunately my last) experience with this restaurant. I travel to Chicago for business during the week - and last night a fellow colleague suggested carry out from Chinese Kitchen (they deliver to local hotels). I ordered the Cashew Chicken - a dish that I have consumed enumerable times from other Chinese restaurants. I am sorry to report that this was - without a doubt - the poorest example of Cashew Chicken I have ever sampled. The vegetables were bland, the sauce devoid of flavor - and the chicken was pale white and possessed a somewhat slimy texture. Unappetizing to say the least. I ended up eating the rice and what vegetables I could pick out. The only redeeming factor was that I ordered the "small" size and thus was only out $10 after tax and delivery. My colleague's dish was somewhat better (he allowed me to sample) - but based on my one and only experience - I will not be ordering from Chinese Kitchen again in the future.

The food is great and I always order online for the free items (like egg rolls or orange chicken). Delivery is always pretty quick too.

Picked up a pizza for hubby, but didn't want any myself. So a few doors down I noticed a take out Chinese restaurant. I went in and there was a bad smell and smoke. I should have just turned around then. As for looks, it looks disheveled. Bottle and cases of soda all around. It just seemed dirty and old, like it had been there forever without any changes or updates. So, I go and order some egg rolls and an order of crab rangoon. Figure they can't mess those up. It was the worst crab rangoon I had ever had. I've had some tasteless before, but this was horrid. I gave it all to the dog. The taste reminded me of the smell of the smoke when I walked in. The egg rolls were barely tolerable, so I did eat them. I hope I won't regret it later. They too had that same weird taste to them. I really should have just left when I thought about it. Even Little Ceaser's would have been better. Well now maybe this will help people avoid it. If you still want to try it, note that they do have a few tables, but it is mostly take out and delivery. Limited delivery area (didn't list the limits) with a $2.00-$3.50 delivery fee (min. order for delivery $10). Mon-Thurs: 11-9:30 Fri: 11-10 Sat: Noon-10 Sun: 1-9 bestchinesekitchen.com

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
